The world’s first analogue AE-1200.
Last issue we showed you how to erase the crosshair from the AE-1200’s little analog window. On r/casio, u/xX_iLoveJesus_Xx went the other way: the digital module is gone, and an analog movement with real hands sits in the steel case.
The caption: “Truly haute horologie. Where’s my GPHG award?!” r/casio played along. Moderator u/s_s issued an official “Master Chronnonono Certification.” u/silent1mezzo thought it should have been saved for April 1st. u/No-Enthusiasm-1485 hoped it would be “not just the first, but also the last.”
The builder stayed in character the whole way:
How do you set the time, unscrew the back and push the hands? “Yes, it’s like an old school grandfather clock.”
On the slightly tilted movement: “It’s totally supposed to be that way. It’s a driver’s watch.”
No clear case back? “I like your thinking, future models must have it.”
And on the craft: “I actually had to install the hands myself, real watchmaking right here!”
A joke? Mostly. But it is also an AE-1200 dial with no crosshair, no LCD and nothing left to erase.
Last issue, wiping the printed text off a Royale with an eraser was a tip buried in a thread. This week two finished watches showed up on r/casioroyale.
u/ZodenAanDeDijk’s Royale, and the eraser that did it.u/FineTough3648’s black AE-1200, on brown leather.
u/ZodenAanDeDijk used an eraser, and its coarser blue end for the faceplate. Next on the list, maybe: a hydro mod.
The comments filled up with fellow erasers. “I did the same, Eraser Brothers!” wrote u/xapoko. u/therickestrick8 did it at work while an update was loading, with the eraser that happened to be on the desk. Not everyone is sold: “Am I the odd one here who likes to keep all the words?” asked u/RoidedStoic.
u/FineTough3648 kept the caption as short as the case text. The whole post is its title: “More oil. Less words.”

Fall Royale
u/sum-9 put an AE-1200 on a brown leather bund strap and tinted the display a warm orange-yellow. It looked so right that commenters wondered if it was AI. “It’s not AI, just something I put together myself. The strap is from Vario and the coloured film from AliX.” No hydro mod, just the film.
u/Strange_Dingo1987 has seen a thousand AE-1200 builds, and they all felt a little off. Then this: “This bund strap just solved that for me.” u/HeliosRunner’s verdict: “Indiana Jones perfect watch.”
u/tos_du_Gal swapped the modules of an AE-1200 and a W‑S1700, sanding both faceplates down to fit. The tan one reminds its builder of a sand-colored Hummer H1. To cut the bar between two display windows: craft knife, then a small nail file, “and most importantly, used a magnifying glass.”
Posted by the Glitch Mod account itself: a black AE-1200 with a Jack-o’-Lantern decal, a haunted castle filter and a navy strap with orange stitching. The trick is in the backlight: press it and the castle glows against a fiery orange sky.
u/randymentse’s first Casio mod is a W‑S1700 with an amber display, and “I’m pretty sure I am addicted!” The nylon strap needed no adapter: a slight trim on the inside, then a torch to melt the edge so it won’t unravel.
