Every so often a post stops the whole scroll. This one, from u/popykingO on r/casiomods, has 850+ upvotes: two antique-bronze faceplates for the AE-1200, laser-etched in 2.5D.

The cut-outs follow the AE-1200’s display windows, so the scenery fills everything around the LCD. u/popykingO says they fit aftermarket cases like the SKXMod, and the finished-watch photo is “soon to come.” Colors in a distressed look are next.
One reader with family in Japan weighed in: the torii design wins. The straw hat on the other one reads more “farmer” than “ronin” to Japanese eyes.

Mr. Yuk goes orange
u/Ziffim89 was just “playing around” and ended up with a hazard sign for the wrist: orange case, lime bezel, a gold wire cage, and a poison-center Mr. Yuk glaring from the analog dial.
u/djoleV11 gave the AE-1200 a Scuderia Ferrari look, then asked how to make it real. The thread’s answer: print the flag on transparent film and the logo on white photo paper. The white stripe is the tricky bit.
Tip: switch on Photo Studio for high-quality renders.
u/One-Consequence2468 lined up four metal-cased AE-1200 Royales, two from SKXMod and two from AliExpress. The builder’s wife calls it a problem. The builder disagrees. Thread tip: the colored map needs the AE-1200WH-1BV module.
u/Apprehensive-Book787 put metallic mosquito mesh and BG-W9 Super-LumiNova on an F-91W. The mesh adds texture and a small gap, so the lume doesn’t touch the LCD and darken it.
u/UXtreme had a gut feeling about a bronze AE-1200, and r/CasioQC spotted the red flags: a faded world map, an off-looking LCD and no hands in the analog dial. Worth a look before you buy a mod base.

Ever seen an oil-filled watch? Hydro Mod fills the case digitally: the display sits closer to the glass, the inner reflections fade, and an air bubble drifts under the crystal, following your cursor.
Hydro Mod on the A168: pick an oil and chase the bubble around the dial.
Choose your oil (mineral, silicone or Fluorinert), set how strong the effect is, then resize the bubble or switch it off.
