Create lifelike 3D previews, explore endless customization options, and show clients exactly how their watch will look before any parts are ordered or installed. For modders, it eliminates guesswork, speeds up approvals, and prevents costly mistakes. For clients, it's the easiest way to communicate ideas — no technical knowledge needed, just visuals everyone can understand. Share, tweak, and finalize designs together in real time, turning complex discussions into clear, confident decisions. With MODDS.WATCH, there are no surprises — just smooth workflows, happy clients, and perfect results. And best of all, it's 100% free to use with no hidden costs.

Is MODDS.WATCH free to use?

Yes! MODDS.WATCH is completely free and always will be. You get full access to the 3D builder, all watch models (Casio F91W, AE1200, MDV106, A168, and more), realistic lighting and materials, and instant browser preview — all without paying anything. No subscriptions, no hidden fees, no credit card required. The platform is free to use for everyone, forever. If you'd like to support the project and help us add new features and watch models faster, you can optionally support me on Patreon, but this is completely optional and doesn't unlock any core features — everything remains free.

Can I buy real watches or modding parts through the app?

Not yet. MODDS.WATCH doesn't sell watches, parts, or mod kits. It's a visual planning tool to help you design first before buying anything. However, we're exploring affiliate links in the future so you can quickly find compatible mod parts directly from trusted sellers.

Do I need a powerful computer to use MODDS.WATCH?

Nope. MODDS.WATCH is 100% web-based. If your device can run a modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.), you can start modding instantly — no downloads, no installations.

Will you add more watches?

Absolutely! We're constantly expanding the collection based on community feedback. Just let us know which models you'd like to see next — your feedback directly shapes the future of MODDS.WATCH.

Does MODDS.WATCH send me a list of parts to buy?

Not yet — but we're working on it. We're developing a Build Export feature that will show a complete list of parts used in your design and provide optional affiliate links to buy them directly. This will make planning your next build even easier.

Can I export my designs?

Yes! Currently you can take high-quality photos of your custom watch mods and share them with the modding community on social media or with modding suppliers.

Can I customize the Casio AE-1200 Royale on MODDS.WATCH?

Yes! You can fully mod and preview the Casio AE-1200 Royale in real-time using our ultimate 3D watch modding builder for professionals and clients. Experiment with straps, change any material and color for any watch part, apply your own images on the faceplate, color filters, and straps — all before buying any parts.

Can I mod the Casio A168 with MODDS.WATCH?

Absolutely! The Casio A168 is supported on MODDS.WATCH. You can visualize straps, change any material and color for any watch part, apply your own images on the faceplate, and straps to plan your perfect mod before making any purchases.

Can I customize the Casio F-91W using MODDS.WATCH?

Yes. The Casio F-91W is available for full 3D customization. You can try different straps, color filters, materials, apply your own images on the faceplate and straps, and design combinations to see how your custom build will look in real time.

Is this an NFT platform or AI-generated system?

No, MODDS.WATCH has nothing to do with NFTs and does not sell digital assets. Also, we don't use AI to generate watch renders. Everything you see is real-time 3D rendering built using Babylon.js. This is a professional visualization tool, not an AI image generator or NFT marketplace.

Who is behind MODDS.WATCH?

Hey, I'm Mike Caplano — a solo developer, 3D artist, and watch modding enthusiast. I created MODDS.WATCH because I wanted a fun, powerful, and accurate way to preview mods in 3D before buying any parts. There are no investors, no big team, no funding — just one guy building something for the community, full-time.

Do you offer a partnership for watch modders, manufacturers or shops?

Yes! If you're a modding shop, professional watch modder or a watch manufacturer (watch microbrands are welcome) looking for partnership opportunities, please contact us directly at [email protected]

Are my watch mods safe?

Absolutely! Only you have access to your custom watch mod designs in real time. Your modding projects and customizations are completely private until you decide to share them with the community.

How do I sign in? Do you support Google sign-in only or email/password?

Currently, we support Google Sign-In and Magic Link login. For security reasons, we don't collect or store passwords. You only need your email to sign in — simple and safe.

Do you track my designs? Who can see them?

No, we don't track, share, or analyze your designs. Everything you create stays 100% private and visible only to you.

How do you decide which watch to add next?

We prioritise new models based on community demand and requests. The most-requested watches move up the roadmap — tell us what you'd like to see next on our social channels or at [email protected].

How can I request a feature?

You can send feature ideas and suggestions to [email protected] or through our social channels — community feedback shapes what we build next.

Can I support MODDS.WATCH on Patreon?

Why is MODDS.WATCH free?

MODDS.WATCH was created to solve a real problem for the watch modding community — the inability to visualize mods before buying parts. Making it free ensures that everyone, from hobbyists to professional modders, can use the tool without barriers. The goal is to make watch modding more accessible and less risky for everyone. While the platform is free, running it involves real costs: servers, 3D modeling, reference photography, and continuous updates. That's why we offer optional Patreon support for those who want to help accelerate development and get some extra perks, but the core platform will always remain free for everyone.

What is a mod watch?

A mod watch (short for "modified watch") is a watch that has been customised with aftermarket or swapped parts — a new dial, bezel, hands, strap, crystal, or case finish — to change how it looks or feels. Watch modding is the hobby of building these custom pieces, usually starting from an affordable base like a Casio or Seiko. So the simple watch mod meaning is: take a stock watch and personalise it into something unique. On MODDS.WATCH you can preview a mod in 3D — dials, straps, bezels, and colours — before buying any parts, so you know exactly how your build will look first.

What's the difference between watch modding and watch customization?

They overlap, but watch modding usually means physically swapping parts on an existing watch — dial, bezel, hands, strap — to create a custom build, while watch customization is the broader idea of making a watch your own, including custom dials, engraving, logos, or a custom watch made to order. Modding is one way to customise a watch; customization also covers design choices that don't require taking the watch apart. MODDS.WATCH covers the planning side of both: you visualise a custom watch design in 3D before committing to parts or a build.

What tools do I need to mod a watch?

A basic watch modding tool kit usually includes a case opener or case knife, a case press to refit the caseback, a movement holder, hand-setting tools, a dial protector, tweezers, a loupe, and spring bar tools. A watch demagnetizer and an ultrasonic cleaner are useful extras for tuning and cleaning. MODDS.WATCH doesn't sell tools — it's a free 3D planning tool — but visualising your build first helps you order the right parts and only the tools you actually need for that specific mod.

Can I put a custom dial or logo on my watch?

Yes — a custom watch dial or a custom logo is one of the most popular mods, and you can preview it on MODDS.WATCH before buying anything. Upload your own image, artwork, or logo onto the faceplate in the 3D builder to see how a custom printed dial will look on your model in real time. When you're happy with the design, use it as a visual reference to order a custom dial or printed faceplate from a supplier or modder.

Can I customize a watch with my name or photo?

Yes. You can place your name, initials, or a photo onto the watch faceplate in the 3D builder and preview it instantly. It's a simple way to plan a personalised watch — a custom gift, a branded piece, or a one-off build — and see exactly how the custom design looks before any parts are made or installed.

Which Seiko is best for modding?

The most popular Seiko watches to mod are the SKX007/SKX009, the Seiko 5 / SRPD range, the Turtle, and the Samurai — they have huge aftermarket support for dials, bezels, chapter rings, and hands. The SKX is the classic starting point for a first Seiko mod because parts are everywhere and the case is easy to work on. Seiko 3D scenes are on the MODDS.WATCH roadmap.

How do I mod a Casio Duro?

A Casio Duro mod (the MDV-106 "Marlin") usually starts with a new bezel insert, dial, hands, strap, or an upgraded crystal to push the budget diver toward a vintage or premium look. On MODDS.WATCH you can plan a Casio Duro mod in 3D first — try bezel, dial, and strap combinations and check they work together before you buy MDV-106 mod parts. Open the Casio Duro MDV-106 lab to start visualising your build.

How much does a custom watch cost?

It depends on the base watch and the parts you choose. Budget builds on a Casio (A168, F-91W, AE-1200, or Duro) can cost as little as $20–100 all-in, while a Seiko mod with a quality dial, sapphire crystal, and bezel often runs $150–400 or more. Custom dials, custom cases, or commissioning a professional modder add to that. Planning your build in 3D on MODDS.WATCH first helps you avoid buying parts you don't end up using, which keeps the real cost down.

Do you support Seiko, Citizen, or Invicta mods?

Right now the 3D builder supports Casio models — the A168, AE-1200 Royale, F-91W, and the Duro MDV-106 — with more on the way. Seiko is the next priority, followed by bases like Citizen, Invicta, Vostok, and Orient.

What parts can I change when modding a watch?

Common watch mod parts include the dial, hands, bezel and bezel insert, chapter ring, crystal (often upgraded to sapphire), case, caseback, crown, and strap or bracelet. Swapping any of these changes the look of the watch, and combining a few is how most custom builds come together. In the MODDS.WATCH 3D builder you can preview how different parts, materials, and colours work together before ordering them.

Is watch modding hard? Can beginners do it?

Watch modding is beginner-friendly if you start with the right base. Affordable watches like the Casio F-91W, A168, or a Seiko 5 are forgiving and have plenty of aftermarket parts and tutorials. Begin with simple changes — a strap, a dial, or a colour filter — then work up to bezel and hands swaps as you get comfortable. Previewing your build in 3D on MODDS.WATCH first removes a lot of the guesswork and helps you avoid costly mistakes.

Can I make a custom watch with my company logo?

Yes. You can preview a custom watch with your company logo on the dial or strap in the 3D builder — useful for microbrands, corporate gifts, and branded merchandise. Design and visualise the look first, then take that reference to a manufacturer or professional modder to produce it. If you're a microbrand or shop looking to collaborate, you can reach us at [email protected].
